Background
MASA: Media Arab Specialized Agency, started as a unique company in the field of architectural designing and engineering and advertising through the Multimedia media.

The Challenges
MASA been using the Clock Device as Time Attendance system since it is established as each employee is using a Carton Card for punching & registering the time attendance in daily basis. At the end of the month, the person in charge will be collecting these cards and figures to calculate the total daily & monthly hours of each employee. Thereafter, a calculation of the over time and other considered calculation are prepared so that salaries are paid accordingly. Now, the big problem consist of scraping all the Carton Cards and issuing a new one for each employee every month which adds up more expenses on the long run.

In addition, MASA wanted to monitor its restricted areas and departments for those whom working in those specified departments. Thus, MASA had no way but to lock the door and issue a spare key for each employee in concern noting that this solution is very risky because each employee can easily make a copy of that key to his friend without any tracking on WHO AND WHY AND WHERE.

The Solution
EBTCO proposed iGuard as a solution for all the problems faced by MASA. The Technical Manager was satisfied with iGuard explained functions which proved to help them solve the previous and current outstanding issues. Other companies did demonstrate their solutions but most of the proposed devices solved only one side of MASA's problems while the other side remained unsolved. Thus, our proposed technology was the only technology that offered a complete solution for MASA's current problems. Moreover additional features and solutions not needed by MASA now but for sure they will need them in the future appeared to be well handled by the iGuard which made the return on investment doubles. The iGuard contains an embedded web server (internal database) that can be accessed easily from any PC running (Linux, Unix, Windows, etc…) on the LAN or WAN or even the World Wide Web. No cards will be collected by the end of the month anymore as the iGuard automate this process easily and effectively.

The iGuard also has an internal memory for saving the Finger Prints in the device itself so no more headache in issuing cards every month nor paying for the overhead expenses resulted from the old solution. Moreover, no more buddies punching between the employees as the technology make it impossible for such fraud which we see in many companies.

Finally, one of the most beautiful facilities in the iGuard is the access control facility supported by the same device with a separated implementation for the reporting away from the application of the time attendance reporting. This feature gives the ability to control the individual's authorizations for specific terminals through a departmental type of privileges plus we won't have to distribute keys anymore to the employees in concern along with the ability to track each and every person easily and safely.
